Evening Light Over The Orstone Paul Haddon Photography
Coastal Tranquillity
The photograph captures a serene coastal scene at dusk. The Orstone, a small island, sits serenely on the horizon. Therefore, the soft, diffused light of the evening sun casts a gentle glow across the water. A peaceful atmosphere pervades the image.
Ocean’s Whisper
Moreover, the foreground features rugged rocks partially submerged in the sea. The long exposure, enhancing the sense of calm. In addition, the colours are soft and muted, adding to the tranquil mood. The sky is a mixture of clear blue and soft clouds.
Nature’s Serenity
Furthermore, the composition expertly balances the vastness of the sea with the intimacy of the rocks in the foreground. The eye naturally travels from the rocks to the distant island, creating a sense of depth and scale. Consequently, this creates a captivating visual journey. The contrast between the sharp rocks and the blurred water adds visual interest.
A Coastal Dream
Finally, this framed artwork is perfect for those who love coastal scenes. It brings a sense of calmness and serenity to any room. It’s a beautiful piece for those seeking a tranquil and inspiring image.
Paul Haddon Photography
Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigour and creativity.
