Autumnal Sanctuary
Glastonbury Abbey Paul Haddon Photography. The photograph showcases Glastonbury Abbey in the autumn. The abbey ruins stand majestically in the background, their weathered stone a testament to time. Consequently, a large tree with vibrant autumn leaves frames the foreground. The colours are warm and inviting.
Tranquil Setting
Moreover, a simple bench sits beneath the tree, inviting viewers to imagine resting and contemplating the scene. This adds a sense of peace and quiet to the image. In addition, the green lawn stretches between the tree and the abbey ruins, creating a sense of calm and spaciousness.
Historical Majesty
Furthermore, the composition expertly blends natural beauty with historical significance. The vibrant colours of the autumn foliage contrast beautifully with the muted tones of the abbey stones. As a result, the image is both visually striking and emotionally resonant. The overall impression is one of serenity and historical weight.
A Moment in Time
Finally, this framed piece captures a timeless moment at Glastonbury Abbey. It’s a captivating image that conveys a sense of history, peace, and the beauty of autumn.
Paul Haddon Photography
Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigour and creativity.
