Bluebell Donkey by Suzie Marsh

All Suzie Marsh sculptures are solid and have a good weight with all the appearance of solid bronze without the price tag!

British sculptor Suzie Marsh studied at Brighton and Exeter Colleges of Art, obtaining her degree in ceramic sculpture in 1982, and she established her own workshop to produce sculpture in 1987. Since then she has become well known for her figurative animal sculpture.

Suzie Marsh’s work is admired for her skill in capturing the life and spirit of her subject and for her attention to detail. She has undertaken many commissions both at home and abroad and is recognised as a leader in the field of animal sculpture. Her work is exhibited in galleries across the UK. Suzie’s initial sculptures are made in clay, which she finds a fluid medium for expression. These can be fired and finished in her own workshop or translated into another medium depending on their eventual purpose. Most of her present work is finished in bronze resin, a material sensitive enough to reproduce every finger mark from the original work. Although this is a very modern material it is finished using the same painstaking hand methods as Suzie’s other work.

In appreciation of the role animals have played in her success, Suzie Marsh is an enthusiastic supporter of several animal charities. The Cats Protection holds a special place in her affections and she is also a regular contributor to the Turgwe Hippo Sanctuary in Zimbabwe. Suzie Marsh has been elected to the Royal British Society of Sculptors.
