Christmas Companion by Gary Walton
Gary Walton’s limited edition Giclee print, “Christmas Companion,” evokes a sense of serene winter magic and heartwarming companionship. The artwork tells a silent story of peaceful co-existence amid a starlit, snowy landscape. Its enchanting and calming atmosphere quickly invites viewers into its wintry embrace.
Winter’s Embrace
The scene features two foxes nestled together at the base of elegant birch trees. In the distance, a warmly lit lighthouse perches atop a rocky cliff, casting a gentle glow across the water. The night sky, a deep, rich blue, sparkles with countless stars, creating a magical backdrop. Barely visible, a sliver of a moon peeks out from behind the softly rendered clouds.
A Moment of Connection
The artist’s signature style, characterized by its dreamlike quality and attention to detail, brings this winter scene to life. Moreover, the stark white of the birch trees contrasts beautifully with the vibrant orange of the foxes, drawing the eye to their tender interaction. The smooth, cool tones of the water and sky add to the overall sense of tranquility and peace. However, this piece offers a visual narrative of friendship and warmth.
The Art of Winter
The vertical composition accentuates the height of the birch trees and the towering presence of the lighthouse, adding depth and perspective to the artwork. Furthermore, “Christmas Companion” is not only a beautiful piece of art. However, it also evokes a sense of peace and closeness. After this, it becomes an ideal addition to any space during the festive season, or throughout the year.
About Gary
Gary Walton discovered a natural gift for painting at an early age, excelling at all things creative throughout his school years. His remarkable technical ability lead to a successful career in graphic design, where he continued to hone his draughtsmanship. At first painting only in his spare time, Waltons unique style gradually developed into the instantly recognizable works of today.
Influenced by the surrealist paintings of Salvador Dali, Waltons paintings depict ethereal scenes, blurring the line between dream and reality. Many of his works, in fact, start life as dreams; images seen in his sleep are translated onto canvas with astonishing clarity. Of his inspirations, Walton states I looked deep inside myself to create my individual style of art It took time to adapt my passion for surrealism to bring my work to life until my creation was born.
Despite having resided inland over recent years, Waltons affection for the coast is evident in many of his works, with boats, beach huts and lighthouses a recurring motif. Whimsical buildings inhabit the rolling hills of his landscapes, providing both the audience and artist with a means to escape to his fantastical locations.
Since becoming a full- time artist Waltons style has continued to develop, with an ever-growing army of collectors relishing each new collection.
