Dartmoor’s Hidden Gems
This framed print showcases a captivating scene on Dartmoor. A crystal-clear stream flows over smooth, moss-covered rocks. In addition, a fallen log lies partially submerged in the water, adding a touch of rustic charm. The overall effect is serene and peaceful.
Water’s Whisper
The photographer’s skill is evident in the way they’ve captured the water’s movement. Consequently, the water appears silky smooth, creating a sense of tranquillity. Moreover, the focus is sharp, highlighting the textures of the rocks and the detail of the mushrooms. This detail is stunning.
Fungi and Flow
Turkey tail mushrooms, easily identifiable by their distinctive shape, cluster on the rocks. Furthermore, these vibrant fungi add a splash of colour to the predominantly green and brown palette. As a result, the image is beautifully balanced. The tranquil atmosphere is enhanced by the natural beauty.

Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigor and creativity.
