Evening Light Over Thatcher Rock Paul Haddon Photography
Golden Hour Embrace
The photograph captures the serene beauty of Thatcher Rock bathed in the golden light of sunset. A small, verdant island sits majestically in the calm sea. As a result, the scene exudes a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for contemplation.
Coastal Serenity
Furthermore, the colours are breath taking. The sky displays a vibrant blend of oranges, yellows, and blues. This is mirrored in the reflection on the water’s surface. Additionally, the tranquil sea appears calm, contrasting with the dramatic sky.
Nature’s Palette
Moreover, the composition is masterful. The positioning of Thatcher Rock creates a strong focal point, drawing the eye across the expanse of water to the vibrant sky. Consequently, this balance enhances the sense of tranquility and vastness. The subtle variations in colour and tone add depth to the image.
A Moment Captured
Finally, this framed print is a timeless piece that would add a touch of coastal beauty to any room. It is perfect for anyone appreciating coastal landscapes and vibrant sunset scenes.
Paul Haddon Photography
Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigour and creativity.
