Harbour Lights Dance
This stunning panoramic photograph captures Torquay’s harbour at dusk. The image is a vibrant tapestry of warm lights reflected in the calm water. Numerous yachts and boats rest peacefully in the marina. Furthermore, the scene is beautifully framed by the surrounding hills.
Coastal Charm Unveiled
The buildings, elegantly lit, ascend the hillside. Consequently, they create a dramatic backdrop to the bustling harbour below. A peaceful atmosphere pervades the scene, hinting at a quiet evening in this charming seaside town.
Twilight’s Reflection
The water acts as a mirror, doubling the image of the town and its lights. In addition, the reflection enhances the overall beauty and serenity. The deep blues and purples of the twilight sky provide a tranquil contrast to the warmer tones of the town’s illumination.
Artistic Vision
The photograph is masterful. It expertly balances light and shadow, capturing the essence of Torquay’s tranquil beauty. Moreover, it is a captivating scene, ideal for adding a touch of coastal charm to any living space.

Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigour and creativity.
