Lake Llyn Ogwen Wales Paul Haddon Photography
A Mountain’s Embrace
This stunning framed photograph captures the breathtaking beauty of Llyn Ogwen in Wales. A cascading waterfall dominates the foreground, its water smoothed by a long exposure, creating a sense of ethereal tranquility. The rocks, rich in texture and colour, cradle the water’s flow.
Majesty of the Peaks
Beyond the waterfall, the valley unfolds, revealing the serene lake nestled amongst dramatic mountains. The imposing peak of Tryfan rises proudly in the background, its sharp silhouette piercing the dramatic sky. Sunlight streams through the clouds, casting a radiant glow across the scene. This light enhances the colours of the autumnal landscape.
Nature’s Canvas
The colours are rich and varied. Greens, browns, and greys dominate the landscape, complemented by the brilliant whites and blues of the sky and water. Furthermore, the composition skilfully balances the foreground waterfall with the expansive mountain vista, creating a captivating view. Consequently, the image evokes a sense of awe and wonder.
Artistic Vision
Paul masterfully uses light and shadow to create depth and drama. Moreover, the long exposure technique adds a magical quality to the moving water. The overall effect is one of serenity and majestic grandeur. It’s a perfect piece to bring the wild beauty of the Welsh mountains into your home.
Paul Haddon Photography
Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigour and creativity.
