Fire in the Sky Paul Haddon Photography
Fiery Sunset Hues
The photograph captures a breathtaking Cornish sunset. The sky blazes with intense colours – fiery oranges, deep reds, and soft purples. Consequently, the sun descends below the horizon, creating a dramatic and vibrant spectacle. The overall feeling is one of warmth and energy.
Coastal Majesty
Furthermore, the ocean meets the shore in gentle waves. These waves softly lap against the beach, creating a tranquil counterpoint to the dramatic sky. In addition, the wet sand in the foreground reflects the sunset’s fiery hues, enhancing the overall beauty of the scene. The colours are rich and intense.
Nature’s Canvas
Moreover, the image’s composition is well-balanced. The horizon line divides the image effectively, highlighting both the dramatic sky and the calmer ocean. Therefore, the viewer’s eye is drawn to the fiery colours of the sunset. The subtle texture of the wet sand adds another layer of visual interest.
Cornish Dreamscape
Finally, this framed print brings a piece of Cornish magic into any home. It’s a powerful image that evokes feelings of warmth, wonder and serenity.
Paul Haddon Photography
Early Inspiration
At just 14 years old, Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography when he picked up his dad’s film camera. He spent hours capturing moments with his best friend, Rebel, a German Shepherd. This newfound interest led Paul to enroll in a night school photography course, where he mastered both “O” and “A” level standards within two years.
Pursuit of Unusual Subjects
Paul has always had a fascination with photographing unusual subjects. He remembers haunting cemeteries during late hours, eager to capture that magical play of light on gravestones and churches, sometimes frightening himself in the process. Although work and family commitments temporarily halted his photography pursuits, the advent of digital photography rekindled his enthusiasm two decades later. He eagerly bought his first digital camera to explore the art form again.
Commercial Success and New Ventures
Paul’s first commercial success was a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, which he sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Exploring the World
Today, Paul has the opportunity to travel to exotic locations, capturing an array of subjects from wildlife to street life and landscapes to seascapes. He finds endless amazement and inspiration in nature and the beauty of our world. Transitioning from film to digital photography has allowed Paul to pursue his passion with renewed vigor and creativity.
