Bob Barker has been painting ever since he was given an oil painting set at 12 years old and was immediately captivated by what could be achieved with a brush, some oil paint and a few small squares of hardboard. With no formal training he has enjoyed painting in many different styles and with numerous subjects, developing and honing his techniques of brush and palette knife.
Although Yorkshire born and bred, during his youth he spent time in Cornwall where he met two prominent artists, Keith English and Tom Gower, and spent hours watching them paint. However, painting remained as a hobby whilst he ran his own business in video and media production for more than 20 years.
In 2000, he started selling paintings to local galleries and through them his work went nationwide and has gone from strength to strength to great acclaim.
