Up Close by Paul Haddon Photography

Fine art wildlife photography

Paul Haddon Photography proudly presents “Up Close,” a powerful fine art limited edition Giclee print. This compelling artwork immediately draws the viewer into the majestic presence of an African elephant. The image offers an intimate, detailed perspective of this magnificent creature’s side profile. Its wise, deeply set eye and weathered skin tell a story of a long life lived in the wild. The colossal, ancient tusk curves gracefully into the foreground, anchoring the composition. Here, every element collaborates to reveal the profound character of this iconic animal.

A Tapestry of Time

The print meticulously captures every fold and wrinkle on the elephant’s colossal hide. This intricate texture speaks volumes about its journey, endurance, and resilience. Warm sunlight gently illuminates its leathery skin, emphasizing the rugged details with remarkable clarity. Furthermore, the sharp, intelligent eye holds an ancient wisdom, inviting deep contemplation from the observer. You can clearly discern the delicate eyelashes and subtle veins around its eye. Consequently, the powerful trunk and impressive tusks dominate the lower frame, hinting at immense strength and an enduring spirit. This composition truly celebrates the elephant’s inherent grandeur and remarkable physical characteristics.

Echoes of the Wild Spirit

This exquisite Giclee print boasts outstanding colour fidelity and superb archival quality. Thus, it guarantees the artwork’s lasting brilliance for generations to come, becoming a cherished heirloom. Specifically, Haddon’s masterful photography brings this iconic animal to life. It shows breathtaking clarity, impressive depth, and an almost palpable connection. Indeed, discerning collectors and passionate wildlife enthusiasts will truly appreciate the intricate details and emotional resonance. This beautifully framed piece therefore makes an impactful statement in any space, from a sophisticated living room to a prominent corporate office. It instantly elevates any interior, adding gravitas and a sense of connection to nature. Moreover, it provides a unique window into the soul of Africa’s gentle giants, celebrating their dignity and powerful grace. The artwork inspires awe and respect for the natural world, serving as a powerful visual narrative.

Discovery of Photography

Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography at age 14. He started taking pictures with his dad’s film camera, capturing moments with Rebel, his German Shepherd. Eager to understand photography’s technical side, Paul enrolled in a night school course. Within two years, he achieved both “O” and “A” level standards in photography.

Unique Exploration

Paul enjoyed photographing unusual subjects such as cemeteries in the magical, eerie light of late nights. These explorations often frightened him, yet fueled his creativity. Eventually, work and family commitments shifted his priorities, and photography took a back seat. However, nearly 20 years later, the advent of digital photography reignited his interest. Paul couldn’t resist; he purchased his first digital camera.

Commercial Success

Paul’s first commercial achievement came with a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey eventually led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.

Ongoing Adventures

Now, Paul travels to exotic locations to photograph a variety of subjects, including wildlife, street life, landscapes, and seascapes. Nature and the world around him continue to inspire and amaze him.
