This captivating limited edition Giclée print, “Amidst the Roots,” is an exquisite piece by Paul Haddon. It beautifully captures the serene scene of a mother elephant and her calf drinking from a watering hole, nestled amongst the roots of ancient trees. This artwork is a touching portrayal of family in the wild.
Waterside Serenity
The artwork shows a mother elephant and her calf, side by side, quenching their thirst. Furthermore, the scene is framed by the intricate network of tree roots, which add depth and character to the composition. You can see the muted tones of the dry earth and lush vegetation blending harmoniously. This creates a sense of tranquillity and natural beauty. Because of the calming scene, this would suit any home environment.
An African Tapestry
Haddon’s keen eye for detail is evident in the rendering of the elephants’ wrinkled skin and expressive eyes. The Giclée printing process captures these nuances with stunning clarity. Consequently, the colours are vibrant, and the artwork exhibits exceptional archival quality. In addition, the print promises lasting beauty. This is a tribute to the gentle giants of Africa.
This framed print makes a meaningful addition to any art collection and also a thoughtful gift for wildlife enthusiasts. It is a beautiful reminder of the importance of conservation and the interconnectedness of life on Earth. Indeed, the print is evocative.
Paul Haddon Biography
Discovery of Photography
Paul Haddon discovered his passion for photography at age 14. He started taking pictures with his dad’s film camera, capturing moments with Rebel, his German Shepherd. Eager to understand photography’s technical side, Paul enrolled in a night school course. Within two years, he achieved both “O” and “A” level standards in photography.
Unique Exploration
Paul enjoyed photographing unusual subjects such as cemeteries in the magical, eerie light of late nights. These explorations often frightened him, yet fuelled his creativity. Eventually, work and family commitments shifted his priorities, and photography took a back seat. However, nearly 20 years later, the advent of digital photography reignited his interest. Paul couldn’t resist; he purchased his first digital camera.
Commercial Success
Paul’s first commercial achievement came with a panoramic montage of the Back Beach in Teignmouth, sold in his restaurant. As demand for his framed photography grew, he ventured into the picture framing and Fine Art industries. This journey eventually led to the creation of Haddon Galleries in Torquay.
Ongoing Adventures
Now, Paul travels to exotic locations to photograph a variety of subjects, including wildlife, street life, landscapes, and seascapes. Nature and the world around him continue to inspire and amaze him.
