Welcome to the world of Edge Sculpture in Miniature.
Edge Sculpture right from its beginnings is a range of contemporary statement pieces for the home and of course with that intention many of the pieces are purposely large in scale. This was Matt Buckley’s primary design goal when originally conceiving and sculpting the range, utilizing such large proportions within his work to create pieces that have a bold and visually striking appearance. This is certainly echoed by many subjects that reside within both the past and present Edge Sculpture portfolio.
However, Matt has always enjoyed experimentation and over the past few years has been considering just how he can present his work on a smaller scale. Not to just sculpt smaller pieces but instead to explore the possibilities of turning what is a very large piece into a flawless miniaturised version of the original. The intention was to not only manufacture the miniature using the very same marble based stone casting material but to also paint the piece in the very same way as well.
Modern technological advances have most certainly aided with this new adventure but Matt has had to make many small adjustments within the pieces to make them both possible to make and yet retain a virtual identical likeness to the much larger original sculpture
We are very proud to announce that we are now finally ready to launch this new collection with the introduction of six classic Edge Sculpture Miniatures. This is very much the beginning of this series and Matt has been looking at other subject’s that he considers would also work very well with this innovative technique. Going forward we also have plans for creating bespoke ways in which it would be possible to attractively display such a collection.
All Edge Sculpture Miniatures will be presented in a matt black lidded gift box adorned with a silver foil logo.

Matt Buckley started off his sculpting career nearly 30 years ago. He has been presented with the opportunity to hone his craft at Robert Harrop Designs by working on the ‘Country Companions’ and later named ‘ Doggie People’ range which resided successfully within the ‘giftware’ and ‘collectible’ industry for well over 30 years.
The licensed figurines that Matt has both personally sculpted and resided over include the Beano and Dandy, Camberwick Green, Roald Dahl, Bagpuss, 2000 AD, The Magic Roundabout, Mr Benn, Wallace and Gromit, Doctor Who and Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Stingray.
Matt remains the Creative Director of Robert Harrop Designs Ltd which is a family run company in Shropshire.
