In The Doghouse by Gary Walton
Gary Walton’s limited edition Giclee print, “In the Doghouse,” presents an imaginative and whimsical multi-story dog home, populated with a delightful cast of canine characters. The piece bubbles with charm and playful energy, immediately captivating the viewer’s attention. Moreover, it invites them to step into a world of canine companionship and quirky architectural design.
Canine Condo
The towering structure, the focal point of the artwork, comprises stacked and slightly askew levels. Each level showcases various breeds of dogs. They are peering out of windows, lounging on balconies, and generally enjoying their unique abode. The warm color palette, dominated by oranges, browns, and blues, creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Home is Where the Dog Is
In addition to the main structure, smaller doghouses at the base adds to the sense of a thriving canine community. Little details, like the “Dogs Home” sign and the whimsical weather vane atop the building, contribute to the overall charm. On the one hand, a bare tree and a starry sky provides a simple backdrop. On the other hand, it allows the focus to remain on the intricately designed dog-filled house.
A Celebration of Dogs
The artist’s signature style shines through in the imaginative composition and meticulous detailing. The vertical format emphasizes the height of the building, making it a striking visual centerpiece. Furthermore, the soft lighting and gentle color transitions create a dreamy and ethereal quality. In conclusion, “In the Doghouse” is not only a delightful and enchanting piece of art. But also it becomes a celebration of the joy and companionship that dogs bring to our lives.
About Gary
Gary Walton discovered a natural gift for painting at an early age, excelling at all things creative throughout his school years. His remarkable technical ability lead to a successful career in graphic design, where he continued to hone his draughtsmanship. At first painting only in his spare time, Waltons unique style gradually developed into the instantly recognizable works of today.
Influenced by the surrealist paintings of Salvador Dali, Waltons paintings depict ethereal scenes, blurring the line between dream and reality. Many of his works, in fact, start life as dreams; images seen in his sleep are translated onto canvas with astonishing clarity. Of his inspirations, Walton states I looked deep inside myself to create my individual style of art It took time to adapt my passion for surrealism to bring my work to life until my creation was born.
Despite having resided inland over recent years, Waltons affection for the coast is evident in many of his works, with boats, beach huts and lighthouses a recurring motif. Whimsical buildings inhabit the rolling hills of his landscapes, providing both the audience and artist with a means to escape to his fantastical locations.
Since becoming a full- time artist Waltons style has continued to develop, with an ever-growing army of collectors relishing each new collection.
