In 1999, Sue Payton transitioned to painting after moving from Wolverhampton to Shropshire. With a background in science, she began her artistic journey while caring for her young family. Initially self-taught, Sue explored local landscapes in watercolour before trying oils in 2013 and discovering her passion for wildlife art.
Passion for Wildlife
Her long-standing interest in animals turned into a focus on wildlife art, leading her to exhibit and win awards. With both the Association of Animal Artists and the National Exhibition of Wildlife Artists, Sue’s work gained recognition. Since 2019, she has been painting in acrylics, often drawn to endangered mammals like big cats, African wild dogs, and wolves.
