The painting invites the viewer to enjoy the dramatic interplay of light and colour across the coastal landscape. With a harmonious blend of purples, oranges and golds, this print creates a captivating and tranquil scene.
The Estuary at Dusk
The artwork depicts the estuary at dusk. It showcases a soft, golden glow which spreads across the water. Several boats are dotted throughout the scene. Further inland, hills rise gently toward the horizon, while clouds filled with colour create a majestic sky. The result is a beautiful and striking composition.
A Symphony of Colours
Skinner’s use of colour creates a dreamlike atmosphere. Purples and oranges blend seamlessly in the sky and water. Also, the darker silhouettes of the landscape create contrast. Then, the effect is an ethereal quality. The artist creates a scene that captivates the eye.
A Timeless Coastal View
