"The Anchor or a Cup of Tea?" by Stephanie Jacques
From Disney and the BBC to Contemporary Fine Art
Before capturing the hearts of fine art collectors across the UK, Stephanie built an illustrious, internationally acclaimed career as an illustrator. After completing a rigorous four-year degree in Graphic Design and Illustration, she went straight into working for a busy Walt Disney-licensed studio.
If you grew up with British and global children's media, you have likely already seen her work:
- The Classics: She was heavily involved in designing books, posters, and character merchandise for iconic brands like Postman Pat and My Little Pony.
- Star Wars: She even produced merchandise designs for the original Star Wars movie.
- The Tweenies: Stephanie worked hand-in-hand with the BBC, illustrating all the books, comic spreads, and merchandise for the massive children's hit The Tweenies.
Now living in the West Country with her family and her two beloved chocolate point cats, Theo and Dante, Stephanie has shifted her "Disney-trained" eye and masterful line work toward modern, decorative fine art.
The Signature Style: Nostalgia, Color, and Whimsy
Stephanie’s modern work is deeply rooted in the coastal landscapes of Devon and the broader West Country. Her paintings are a joyous blend of flat, illustrative line-work, heavily saturated palettes, and highly decorative details. There is a distinct, lighthearted narrative in every piece, often featuring plump, sun-kissed beachgoers, cheeky local wildlife (like her trademark quizzical pelicans), and vibrant beach huts draped in colorful bunting.
The result is a comforting, nostalgic sense of the classic British seaside holiday. Because Haddon Galleries prints and finishes her limited editions in-house, they are able to preserve the absolute depth, tone, and luminous quality of her original acrylics.

The Lighthouse

"The Lighthouse" by Stephanie Jacques
A stunning, vertically oriented piece capturing a bold, red-and-white-striped lighthouse standing guard over a dark blue harbour. In classic Stephanie fashion, the tranquil waters are contrasted by a whimsical, flag-adorned boat and a cheeky pelican perched in the foreground, turning a traditional maritime landscape into a joyful narrative.
Love Torquay

"Love Torquay" by Stephanie Jacques
Paying direct homage to the home of Haddon Galleries, this vibrant Giclée print features a curvaceous woman in a bold Union Jack swimsuit enjoying an ice cream cone. Positioned beside a bright blue beach hut with a "Gone Sailing" sign, the scene is tied together with hovering seagulls and festive bunting—the ultimate celebration of local Torbay life.

The Harbour Master's Office & The Jolly Sailor or Tea & Cake?
These pieces explore bustling, character-filled ports. Stephanie layers whimsical coastal architecture—leaning, brightly coloured buildings that feel alive—above harbour waters dotted with charmingly asymmetric, bobbing boats.
Whether you are looking for a statement piece of original art or a high-quality limited edition print to bring a burst of seaside sunshine into your home, Stephanie Jacques’ collection at Haddon Galleries is a masterclass in art that simply makes you happy.
